Lexington City Schools proudly announces the winners of its 2024-2025 Teacher, Beginning Teacher, Classified Employee, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher of the Year awards. These dedicated educators and staff members have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their students, schools, and the district, making a significant impact on their fields and the broader community.

Teacher of the Year: Sheriann Jennings (4th Grade at Southwest Elementary Global Academy)

Sheriann Jennings has been named Lexington City Schools' Teacher of the Year. She will represent the district in the Regional Teacher of the Year competition. With her passion for student success and innovative teaching practices, Jennings continues to inspire her colleagues and make a lasting impact on her students.

Beginning Teacher of the Year: Ashley Miller (3rd Grade at Southwest Global Academy Elementary School)
Ashley Miller, recognized as Beginning Teacher of the Year, has quickly established herself as a valuable asset to the district. Her dedication to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment sets her apart as an emerging leader in education.

Classified Employee of the Year: Karen Brown (Charles England Elementary School )
Karen Brown, this year’s Classified Employee of the Year, has played a crucial role in supporting Lexington City Schools’ mission. Her commitment to providing essential services to students and staff makes her an integral part of the school community.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher of the Year Tracy Beverly ( Lexington Senior High School)


Tracy Beverly, honored as the CTE Teacher of the Year, has made significant strides in preparing students for their future careers. Her innovative approach to Career and Technical Education has garnered widespread recognition.

The winners were honored at a special luncheon held at the Sapona Golf, Swim, and Tennis Club, where they were recognized for their outstanding achievements. Sheriann Jennings will also advance to the next level in the competition for Regional Teacher of the Year.
